Real world mileage may vary... Isn't the EPA mileage test done on a dyno or something? Like you said, the vette motor is turning over about 1600 RPM on the hiway, but if you start pressing the gas at all, milaeage goes way down. Weight doesn't matter too much on the hiway, right? The WRX is paying the price for it's AWD drag. My viggen amazes me on the hiway, I get around 32 mpg averaging 75 mph, and I'm on the northeast, so driving on the hiway is rarely steady state. If my car had a taller top gear it would be even better.
In mixed driving I get about 22-23 mpg, not bad for a car with 300 hp. I'm guessing the vette would get about 15 mpg in that sort of driving.
