I know the older mid 80's 900 manual trannys were quite weak. I've got an '85 and know that all too well. I've heard somewhere that they were upgraded in 89? and the 1991+ transmission was the strongest. Does anyone have any info/theories on how much power each of these transmissions would hold without damage? I'm asking because I have a 1985 900 Turbo, but I swapped in a tranny from an '87 NON-turbo. I'd like to know how much power to expect this thing to hold before I start any serious mods. Will this one hold the 250hp I'd expect? Or should I swap to a '91 5spd? Or is a pro-built tranny the only answer? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
Jordan
