I am on my 5th harley & they are not quick. I have the ultra classic which is harleys attempt at a golwing however if you do the math 65 HP & 850-900 lbs does not equate into a quick bike which is by far my biggest complaint with the thing, SLOW!!!
The louder ones usually are just LOUD & are many times slower then stock because people often times do not spend the $$$ on the screaming eagle cams, ECU or injector upgrades etc to take the lower backpressure of the loud exhaust.
You also have to realize that many bike riders are not comfortable pushing their bikes in turns however again these are not built to go fast rhough turns, more of a cruiser.
My present ultra classic is a 04 which will be traded in this winter for a 06 model. HOPEFULLY they will bring more HP to the bikes VERY soon! & FWIW, I have had no problems traveling 1500-2000 miles on vacation on my harleys, I just don't get anywhere fast which also keeps me out of trouble :)
Now if you would of been up against the goldwing, he would of blown you away :)
