Saab Sonett way out there injection question...

Just got a Sonett. I would love to fuel inject it and eventually turbo it (mildly so as not to blow the tranny). I just picked up a European 2 bbl manifold also.
Is there any way to hook a hall sensor into the sonett distributer to make a 900 ECU and (and eventually APC) work with the car? I can rig the injectors to blow into the 2 bbl manifold, and as it is a batch fire system, it should work. I can even weld myself a new fuel rail.
I know the APC can function without the ECU (BadBricks website kinda proves that), but can the 900 ECU and harness be adapted to fit a Ford Industrial 1.7 liter v4 engine? Aftermarket injection is too expensive. All that would be needed I would think would be to hook up the hall sensor and remap the ECU on a dyno, place the manifold temperature sensor, place FPR and AMM and 02 sensor/bung, and get new fuel pump and create a vacuum area to power brakes. What am I missing? It seems too simple.
(If I turbo, I will be rebuilding the engine with HiPro pistons and low compression rods - I need sources).
