Headlights acting up. Posted by Ed_F [Email] (#1000) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Ed_F) on Thu, 12 Mar 2009 22:58:37 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
My 72 Sonett has some electrical gremlins (which ones don't?..lol!). When I picked her up, It had no lights. After swapping the AUX switch with the parking light switch and cleaning some grounds, I got parking lights. Next came figuring out the headlights (which also happen to be old Lucas units). The micro switch was stuck closed, so I dug up an NOS micro switch that has been hanging around for many years. With the new switch, still no lights. I took apart the relay and played with the contacts. Success!... So I thought. Now the lights stay on whether they are up or down. All the lights seem brighter than they should be. Could it be the new micro switch, or relay?
Help is greatly appreciated.
