Not sure about the '71. My 1973 doesn't have any and no idea if it had them prior to a 2004 restoration. If they existed I suspect they would have been restored/replaced based on the level of detail that was done on my car at the time. Can't imagine they would have gotten ride of the trim in models subsequent to your '71.
Quite honestly at 6'-1" my feet never touch the sill. I put my butt into the seat first and then swing in my legs/feet. Looks like the doors would clear a thin sill if you wanted to add them. Available from lots of online auto trim suppliers.
