Hi all,
I'm a noob to the whole Sonett thing, but they've been growing on me for the last couple of years and I'd like to pickup a Sonett V4 sometime. Been lurking the forums and reading just about everything I can on them. I've got a question for the group here, I'm hoping you wouldn't mind answering. I've found a V4 for sale in very good shape. No apparent rust on the chassis, bodywork is good, powertrain is good.
However, there are two things that have me really hesitating. The first is the freewheel has been disabled. I'm pretty sure by pinning the lever arm, which, from what I understand isn't a big deal. The second is the rear windshield has a crack (gulp). I guess what I'm really wondering is would you guys pass on a car like that or not? It's by no means listed as cheap, but not excruciatingly expensive either. Aren't replacements available through the Saab club in Sweden for roughly the price of an extra organ? I know that acrylic replacements are available too.
Thanks all.
