Hello again Stephen B, do a search on this BB using "saggy front springs?" posted June 05, 2007 for aditional info to your first question. I know I posted about these measurements a few years ago but could not find my measurements. So, I measured my 1971 Sonett III for you. The front center hub to center of lower front fender arch is the same as the above post which is 31.5 cm and the rear center hub to center measurement of lower fender arch is 33.0 cm (no one in the car). The early Sonett III's curb weigth with the smaller bumpers is 1805 lbs. (+70 lbs. with A/C) and 1875 for the later Sonett's with the large bumpers (+70 lbs. with A/C). Road clearance (manual does not state where measured), fully loaded is 4.9 in. (125 mm) and overall height, empty is 3 ft. 11 in. (1,190 mm). Your car's current height should be easy to check (stock tires were 155SRx15 so check with an experienced tire shop to get the correct height for that size). Did you have the same sized wire springs made up and did you compare the two front springs before you installed them?
Check to see if all the front rubber suspension bushing are in place on both sides and the upper rubber spring insulators are there and not worn unequally.
As previously stated the Sonett did not come with a front stabilizer as did some of the Saab 96's (and 95's?) but both share most of the basic front end components (not including springs). The Sonett's also came with the two outer stabilizer bar end mounting brackets (with the rubber bushings in place). However the two holes where the stabilizer would enter into the engine compartment are blanked out in the Sonett frame. You can see them from the inside of the engine compartment. I installed one on my Sonett less body roll while cornering but did not increase the ride height.
FYI: The only dealer options I know of are AM/FM radio, internal and external antenas, a locking gas cap, two styles of aluminum wheels, body side pinstripes, behind the grill driving lights and the rarely seen leather seats.
