Thank you for your input on tire choices. Although I wanted to stay with a stock size, I couldn't pass up a great deal on 175/65/15's. I compared tire sizes using online calculators and but wasn't convinced with the fit until they were delivered. They're perfect.
- The soccer ball wheels handle the 175's width just fine.
- The stock 155's looked a bit narrow (by today's standards) and I was worried about scraping with the 165's, since they're a bit taller.
- the overall height and circumference with the 175/65's are ever-so-slightly smaller than my original 155's. No scraping at all.
I suppose we have the popularity of the mini cooper to thank for reasonable access and price to 175/65/15's. Thanks again for your advice- I'd recommend this tire size.
