Battery cable routing Posted by pfrank [Email] (#549) [Profile/Gallery] (more from pfrank) on Sun, 21 Nov 2010 18:57:58 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I am reassembling my '74 Sonett III after having it apart for 10 years and am not sure of the battery cable routing in the engine compartment. From the way my old cable looks, it appears that it comes forward through the firewall and continues forward all the way past the front of the engine, turns left in front of the oil pan, and then heads back toward the rear on the left side of the engine and then connects to the starter.
I am making a new cable and wonder why after coming through the firewall, the cable just does not turn left under the transmission and then turn forward on the left side of the engine and connect to the starter from behind. It would certainly take less cable.
Any suggestions or pics would be appreciated.
