The Weber carb is the two barrel. Actually, I may have confused things earlier when I said the valve covers and breather cap were Edelbrock. Only the breather cap on the oil filler hole is an aftermarket Edelbrock part, from what I can tell. The valve covers, while they do not look 40 years old, do have some years on them. Perhaps they are the alloy valve covers you mention.
I don't feel a pressing need to swap the valve covers side to side unless there is a reason to. I just noticed the difference from what I saw in the service manual and am still learning about the V4 engine.
