HI there, bad news re Pertronix. My Sonett suffered th every things you talk about, in fact it stopped at the bottmom of my block (I live on 10 Acres) and I had to strip and replace it all in the rain last winter.
Anyway I see you've replaced the coil. cap and rotor and wires. Did you do the capacitor as well?
You can time it with just the hood locking bar unbolted and get your head right in, but hood off is easier. there is mechanical advance that comes in early so get engine idling as slowly as possible and time it then. I have a Weber on mine now and I got rid of the 3 way thermo unit - woudln't go onto the new thermostat housing. It runs fine. I only have the Vacuum advace tube connected now. Not sure what else you can do besides clean everything.
Try a sob story to Pertronix, they may give you a discount. I also fitted a pertronix rev limiter, it goes well
