The Tuned-Y exhaust will make a noticeable improvement over duals. There is a little bit of a difference between the MSS system, and what Jack Ashcraft recommends, if I recall correctly. The point at where the two primary pipes merge determines the length of the primary pipes. Shorter primary tends to move the point at which peak power happens up higher in the rpm range. Longer primary tends to move that point lower in the rpm range. The MSS system uses shorter primary lengths. Ashcraft's recommendations uses longer primary lengths. The difference is only two inches or so.
If you are building an 8,000rpm engine for a track car, shorter is better. If you won't be revving past 5,500rpm, and drive on the street, it would be a benefit to have longer primaries.
But back to the first sentence. Both tuned Y systems will give improvements over duals. On my 1970 96 V4, with a 32/36, F4 cam, opened up heads, going from duals to Ashcraft's tuned Y, it required a full two-step increase on the secondary main jet.
I wouldn't be surprised if the tuned Y would yield you 5-7hp at the wheels with your setup.
