what causes pushrods to bend is stuck valvetrain components. Stuck valvetrain componenents can typically include rocker arms frozen to the rocker arm shaft by rust, or valves frozen to the valve guides by rust. In either case or if the problem is from some other source, probably your best solution is a complete rebuild of the engine. When the problems you indicate exist, no band-aid solution is likely to be reliable in the long run.
