Mark:
I just noted your post here regarding your smog test at my shop, Folsom Quick
Smog. I am dissapointed in your distortion of your experience here. As you might
recall, a verification of your ignition timing is a necessary part of the test. It is
impossible to see the timing marks on this model without removing the hood. We
are a Test Only facility and cannot do any repairs so the hood removal would be
your responsibility.
"They adjusted the carb and managed to screw up the timing. It ran great
going in and really rough after they (or the Sonett) failed for Nitrogen at
25mph. All othre gases were fine.
They also said I needed a closed oiler breathere cap? "
Folsom Quick Smog, is a State licensed Test Only Facility and we are forbidden to
do ANY adjustments or repairs. I am sure you will recall that we did NO
adjustments to your Saab. The gas readings are done on a sealed analyzer
controlled by the State. We have no control over the readings. Califirnia State law
also states that your crankcase breather system must be sealed with no emissions to
the atmosphere. Your open breather cap was a violation of that law.
Your post on this forum borders on slander. It also implies that we broke the law
during the official inspection. I would appreciate an apology
