I just went out and watched the engine running in the dark. the longer I looked the more it looked like a fireworks display. Mostly around the boots and lots of glowing along the coil wire, but also some arching where the wires come in contact to metal parts. The idle is still very smooth though. Maybe this is normal for non resistor wires. It still has spiking at the tack but no detectible sound of a miss or rpm change since I put in the Pertronix kit. I've had a few conversations with their tech and he gave me a few things to check with my meter but changing the wires is good place to start.
