I am using Grundy's and carrying the liability on my normal insurance company. I have classic plates on my 72 sonett and my 66 HD bike, which makes it easier with the classic insurance companies, because my use of either is limited by the plates. The lopehole is with the way my state (WV) says you can use a vehicle with classic plates; on the weekends, to convections, club gatherings, or a test drive. Test drive that could mean almost anything, for instance I use the sonett to go to work almost every friday and the bike at least once a week when the weather is good. So thursday evening I do a little tuning (i.e. check the oil and tire pressure), and test drive it to work the next day. The biggest benefit that I have found is that with the classic plates, I never have to get either one inspected ever again. But I do still carry the liability just in case, I am ever in a situation were Grundy's will not pay for damage done to someone else or thier stuff. The liability is very cheap, the sonett addded about $150 to my annual bill. Which is much better than paying someone medical bills out of my pocket. So I guess what I am saying is, if I ever smash my 72 I hope it is on the weekend, when I can get the 6k replacement value on the Grundy's, but if not I am covered I'll just be without one of my favorite toys.
