Congratulations on getting the car. This last summer I located a person that does welding for farmers and paid him to install a floor from Jack Ashcraft in my 74 Sonett. He had to remove and replace the gas tank for the welding and charged me $200 labor to do the job. It turned out really well. It was good work at a reasonable price. If you decide to go the route of lowering the floor, be sure to check on the cost of getting it done by such a person, it might be less than you think.

Also, if you can fit in the car with the seat out, then it may be possible just to find or customize a seat with a thinner bottom.
