Thanks, Richard!
I immediately thought of Porsche when I started on this trek with its often mid-rear engine design, and wondered if there was one that didn't have the tank out front but between the driver and the engine. I can't really think of another car that has the same configuration as the Sonett...the MR-2 is the closest, only in that the fuel is not in a "typical" location (running down the middle of the car). But then again, my mind is rapidly moving into the realm of dodgy when it comes to esoterica. :o)
I've tried contacting a few racers online, but haven't received any info from them, strangely enough. Maybe its a well-guarded secret!
And as for racing, since the types of events I'd be using the car for aren't any longer than 20 minutes or so, I certainly don't need a big cell...I wonder at creating a holding-structure out of the current location in which one can place a cell-bladder...creating a solid back-wall to the space to hold things in. I guess I'll have to chat with some folks at the fuel cell companies and see what their suggestions are.
So, I continue the search!
