As a Sonett driver/owner/restorer for the past 24 years I offer the following: Sonnets are like fine women, 1. Play with them, don't ignore them once you have one,(or three) 2. Prepare to spend time being close to them if you plan to keep her (them)and 3.Understand that they were designed for fun in the 60's and 70's. Now refer back to point 1. (except they don't like being wet :(lets keep it G rated here). Sonnets are what they are, not for the meek hearted in traffic with Hummers but on the open road with proper maintenance and a Ford tractor resonator, you can enjoy the speed, humm of the road/radio and relish the fact you own a limited production antique that turns heads. As for safety, there is a noticible difference between my 68, 71 and 74 frames regarding SAAB engineering attempts to strenghthen doors and other areas of the car, none that will save you in a head on. Sonett "Deathtrap" mentality is in the hands of the user. I daily drive by GMC for safety and weekend drive my Sonnets for bragging rites!
