My previous post was in response to post concerning a Nippon alternator. The alt. I used was GM, at least the vehicles that it fit were all GM. The reason for my swap was that my CD changer would cut out if my rpms were low, turn signal on and brakes applied. At an idle ,foot on brake was enough to kill it. The radio CD had similar symtom but much less frequent. I also have plans for air cond. I think Chaz is correct in that you would not be using 100 amps unless you needed 100 amps. 50 to 60 probably would have been plenty even with air but this one fit great and the price was right. It solved the problem, my wipers run with more enthusiasm and the lights don't dim at idle. Having an internal regulator also gives me one less hard to find Saab part to worry about. Rebuilding it to a higher output would have been my first choice but this worked out great.
