Bobby,
Regarding the actual driving lights, I have read somewhere that they are the same as what was used in the old Mercury Capris for headlights. I haven't confirmed this yet as it's low on my priority list, but would like to as mine are rusty. After a search of this board, I found where someone mentioned the buckets might be the same as the MG Midget or B. I hope someone can confirm this.
I have the good fortune to live in the northeast where Saab dealers are/were more common, and where there are mechanics still around who worked on the Sonetts back in the day. One former mechanic lives less than two miles from my house! I managed to find a parts car about 45 minutes from home and eventually talked the owner down to $250 for the whole car. If you have the room, find yourself one. If you don't have the room, do what I did and find a friendly local garage with a junkyard in back where you can keep it. I got lucky. When a local garage found out I had a Sonett, the owner wanted me to bring it down to show him, and he ended up inviting me keep it there to work on it. How could I turn down a free offer of the use of his lift, tools, and help?! Contact some of the other Sonett owners in Florida and build up your contacts which can lead you to parts sources as well as valuable advice. Some of my local leads have come from stopping at hole-in-the-wall garages and junkyards and asking if they ever saw any Saab Sonetts. Half the excitement is in the chase!
Good luck!
