Unfortunately, I've been knee deep managing other obligations since (before) I picked up the car. I've been spending most of my free evening time sorting through and cross referencing parts lists to figure out where I can and can't get parts that I know I will need, anticipate I will need and those that I just want (e.g., Pertronix). I'm really hoping that I'll be able to get her up in the air this weekend so I can get a better grasp of how good or bad things really are.
That said, my 2 year old daughter loves the car and has more or less claimed it for herself. Without fail, every time she's in the garage she asks if she can sit in it. I've explained to her that it needs some work and last weekend she said, "Daddy and Sam fix it." I told her that would be great. Referring to my parts car, she then added, "Other one, too!" When I told her that that it couldn't be repaired she laughed and asked if we could try. I can only hope that my 10 wk old son will share his big sister's interest in cars!
After taking it for a quick spin around the block, I am absolutely certain that it needs brake work before it will pass inspection for registration and I'm not in any rush to get on the road with the brakes sort of working. I'm hoping that the brake master cylinder isn't part of the problem but I'm sure I will soon find out!
