The original 1974 carb, probably an Autolite 72TF-9510-KFA, had an automatic choke attached that was comprised of a housing, gasket, and cover assembly. Your Sonett may no longer have the original Autolite carb (if it does, then perhaps the automatic choke was removed and replaced with a manual one). Or, the automatic choke may no longer work correctly, and must be manually set from time to time, in which case there would be no pull knob around the dash.
Another possibility is that an aftermarket carb was swapped in at some point, like the Weber. I added a manual choke to my Sonett with a Weber to help with colder New England starts and located the pull knob on the bottom of the fiberglass dash to the left of the steering wheel. If a manual choke was added, look for a pull cable coming in from the engine compartment.
For an illustration of the original carb set up, visit http://fairislepress.com/archive and search under MAJOR FUNCTIONAL AREA: ENGINE and then V4 CARB FROM 1970.
