Bought this car to restore and wife lost her job so this toy has to go. Mechanicaly this car is sound, it runs greatn and the turbo is strong. The top and windows work. The guy I bought it from told me he had a new exaust put on the car a couple of weeks before the wreck. I was going to replace the trunk lid and drivers rear quarter panel and then start work on the inside. Most of the problems are cosmetic except the heater valve needs replacing. This is a great deal for someone, my loss is your gain.

VIN #: YS3AL75L9L7011638 - Build Date: 12/1989. Convertible season is here! For sale is my beautiful 1990 SAAB 900 turbo convertible. Recently professionally repainted in the original Cherry Red with Sierra brown leather interior, this car is sure to turn heads anywhere you drive it! Originally purchased at Gregg Motors in Santa Barbara, California in May, 1990, she has no structural rust and still looks beautiful after 19 years. The body is straight, and Carfax says she has never been hit. She starts and runs beautifully, with no transmission noises whatsoever. The leather also has a terrific patina, thanks to generous applications of leather conditioner (I think one of the prior owners had sheepskin seat covers too). I have a few service records and original manuals from when the car as new, as well as a folder containing all records since 2002. The black German canvas top and glass were replaced a few years ago and looks new. Recent work (past 5 months) includes the following: *A professional sanding and repaint of the car in May, 2009 using the original BASF factory paint (looks fantastic!) The hood and doors had faded from sitting in the sunshine for so long (SAAB’s old red paint is notorious for this), so I decided to have this done by a pro to make the car look showroom fresh again. I can refer interested buyers to the gentleman who did the work for me, as he spent nearly thirty (30) hours on the prep, sanding and spraying. Read: this is not a MAACO job!! *4 new Goodyear Eagle tires (195/55/R15). *Fuel filter (OEM SAAB). *New battery. *Custom-made stainless steel twin-barrel sport tailpipe (hand-made in the UK and modeled after the SAAB 900 Carlsson limited edition models). *New clutch and new clutch master cylinder (OEM SAAB). *Brake fluid flush and replacement of old rubber brake lines with new stainless steel lines. *New Koni shocks on all four corners, plus installation of Kilen lowering springs (~1” drop). *New parking brake cables. *New brake rotors and pads on all four wheels (including cross-drilled on the front and ceramic pads). *New polyurethane shock and swaybar bushings. *Two new Infinity Kappa speakers in the rear panels. I also replaced the old headunit with a new Blaupunkt Hamburg MP57 unit with internal amplifier, MP3 jack and Bluetooth microphone wired to the top of the A-pillar for hands-free calls. Last but not least, you'll also get the coveted (matching) tonneau cover for stylish top-down driving. Oil and filter were changed three weeks ago. The only negative things I can think of are regarding the dash, A/C system and top. The dash has the usual cracks from sitting in the sun, but it's not too bad and you could easily buy a cover to fix it. The A/C will probably need a charge (common issue for old SAABs/European cars), and I have removed the A/C belt for the time being to improve fuel economy. The rear bumper also has slight fading and scratches, but that's to be expected on a car this age. The only other minor issue is that the top fabric is slightly pulled away in the lower-left area of the rear window, another easy-to-fix issue that I'll address soon. Also, when the car was repainted, all the trunk and “turbo” hood emblems had to be removed. You will notice from the photos that the car appears debadged. However, I ordered a set of new emblems from the factory, and I’ll be installing them as soon as they arrive. I love this car, but I'm relocating and sadly she has to go. Car is currently located in Vestal, New York and will be sold as is with no warranty offered or implied. Call and make me an offer!

1994 Saab 900 Commemorative Edition Convertible (Posted 6/1/2009)

I'm selling my gorgeous, sleek, classic, trustworthy, so-much-fun 1994 commemorative Saab convertible with manual transmission, black exterior, tan leather interior (with black piping), and a tan (new!) roof. As most of you on saabnet probably know, it's commemorative because it was the last year the convertible was made in this old body style, and only 500 of this car were made with all the amazing details it boats. It also has power windows and locks and seats, and the top retracts automatically too (once you unlock it from the driver's seat). It kills me to sell it, but I have a new, used Prius that I got for commuting and I just can't afford to keep both (but was so hoping I could). You will LOVE zipping around with the top down in this car...it's so powerful and so sleek. I bought it in early 2005 from amazing, well renowned Saab mechanic Walter Wong in Los Angeles who had reconditioned the whole thing by hand (Google him! He's the best!) including brand new clutch and brand new roof and everything else. It's got a sport muffler on it and is THE MOST fun car to drive EVER (above Audi TTs, MINI Coopers, etc.). I'm just crazy for it, and you will be, too! Disclosures: The odometer stopped working 2 years ago at 152,000. I'd estimate that it now has 175,000 miles MAX (and probably less). I've been told it needs a new starter (cuz it sounds a bit tired when I turn the key to start it up), but it always starts fine for me. The heater doesn't work (my mechanic at Saab Replay in Berkeley undid the hose or some such thing when we tried to see if the odometer was broken simply because of a wire (it's not - the gears are worn), but the A/C works dynamite! It also never had the commemorative plaque that supposedly came with it years ago. Other than that, it has standard stuff that's not in perfect condition for a 15-year old Saab (blinker lever doesn't stay on, dashboard cracked a bit from sun, stitching on some of leather seats splitting a bit, etc.), but overall it's AMAZING and soooo stylish! I replaced the factory radio (though I still have the factory one in a box, along with the original equalizer as well) with a removal face plate CD player stereo. I've always given it Chevron supreme gas and regular oil changes and all that good stuff. I regularly detail it too so it stays shiny and gorgeous (see pic! not bad for an old car!). I can give you tips about how to keep the paint from going matte on it...basically, keep it waxed and don't use regular soap or dish soap to wash it. I've printed out a carfax on it to show you it's history. I really want to sell it to someone who loves Saabs and is willing to give it some TLC and really enjoy it. This is my 1991 Saab 900 SE. What a presence this car has. The classic design and the reliabilty of a solid built Saab still exceeds todays cheap silver plastic standards. I bought this car from a dealership and don't have any records but it is in good shape. This is the special edition model. It has been garaged and it shows. The interior has been redone at some point. Seats look very nice with no tears or stains, carpet is clean, dash has two small stress cracks by the coin tray, door panels have some bruises on the top part. The roof is like brand new. The air conditioning needs to be charged. All the electricals work good (Lights, horn, fogs etc). The ABS flickers sometimes when applying brakes. The body is very straight and the paint is in great shape, although the hood is starting to show a few spots of clear coat thinning. It is of no concern and i'm sure you could buff it out with color polish but I must disclose it. Also the trunk and the rear bumper has some minor scratches. Engine has no leaks or smoke. It runs very smooth and turbo spools properly. The transmission shifts properly and feels very sporty. The tires and brakes are in good condition and so are the wheels. We don't drive this car regularly and so here is your chance to own a classic at a low price. Please do not expect a show car but it is a very good presentable daily driver. 1994 Saab 900 Turbo Convertible Commemorative Edition (Posted 5/25/2009)

The 900 Commemorative Edition Turbo Convertible was offered in the US market in September of 1993. This model was only available as a convertible with a manual transmission. It had a 185 Hp engine which gave it the same performance as the 1993 Commemorative Edition Turbo Coupe. The extra horsepower was achieved through the modified "red box" APC, a 2.8bar fuel pressure regulator, and a special distributor with enhanced vacuum advance. The exterior of the car was "Nova" black metallic. It is the only Saab model that had this color. It also had tan leather interior like the 1993, but the seats were given a two-tone treatment by adding charcoal grey piping (they called it black, but it is the same piping used on the charcoal grey leather interiors). All had tan canvass tops. It did not share the 1993 CE's lowered suspension. Only a limited number of 500 were produced for the U.S. market (VINs ending in 008000-008500). They did not get the gold numbered badge like the 1993 CEs. All included leather interior, a burled walnut instrument panel facia, a leather gear knob and boot, and special charcoal gray metallic directional alloy wheels with polished outer rims. Some cars had later dealer-installed options added when they were purchased; like walnut ash trays and gear knobs, black tops, and SPG body panels. SAAB 900S Black 1991 Classic Convertible. Black body, black convertible top, tan leather interior. Trans: 5-Speed Manual, Mileage: 305,000 (but motor and transmission were both replaced at 200K miles!). My “Rooster” is a fun car to drive in all seasons, but right now is obviously best! In very good condition overall, and running strong. New battery, new front tires. Working convertible top. No noticable dings. A/C, heat, power windows work. Heated seats do not. I bought the car new and it has been well cared for and serviced by the same Saab car specialist its entire life. Would still be driving it but for a new car deal I bought into!
