Good condition classic 900 turbo convertible for sale. This was my wife's daily driver in Florida until the top ripped beyond the ab ility of patching to prevent leaks. Overall the car is in solid mechanical condition. The motor is strong, the turbo and transmissio n are in good condition, and the body is rust free. This was a garaged Florida car before our move this last fall to Colorado. It h as been garaged all winter but I've been driving it for fun lately. The primary faults with the car, in addition to other minor issu es, are that it needs a new top and the AC needs a new compressor and conversion. The interior is worn but not any worse than could be expected for its age. We recently took the car to the mechanics @ East of Sweden, a Saabnet member, and had them do a mechanical review. We have their report available as well as more pictures.

1993 Saab 900S Convertible (Posted 3/10/2009) SOLD

The Bad: Heated Seats, clock and cruise do not work. Small tear in the drivers seat at the bottom of the back r est. Dash is cracked in the normal places. Paint is still shiny but the hood is starting to fade. Speedometer seems to read 5-10 MPH fast above 60MPH but there is no jolt to the needle. ODOMETER IS ACCURATE. Shift Coupler has had the modified fix in place for 10K miles with no issues. The Good: Everything else is operational including Cold AC. No Rust. Clutch has 10K miles on it. New com plete exhaust including Converter. New Rear Brakes and Rotors. Tires have 5K miles on them. Power Top in excellent condition w/ few wear spots. This 1992 black 900S Convertible was purchased in Florida for $31,035.00 and spent the first seven years there. Since I purchased th is car in 2002 it has been garage kept and has never been in the rain or out in the winter. I have all of the service records from b efore I purchased it. Since my purchase it, I have installed a new top and back window. Replaced all of the ball joints, tie rod end s, axle boots, brake rotors, pads, fuel pump, crank sensor, crank seal and pulley, oxygen sensor, water pump, Alternator bushings an d regulator, belts, exhaust from cat back, Clarion CD radio, battery ,filters, tune up, etc. The ac has also been converted to 134A. The dash does have some cracks on top. The leather has no tears or rips although it is a little dry. The paint is very presentable but not perfect. The hood has some small paint nicks in front, and there are a few small dings in the side. Another vehicle rolled i nto the driver~Rs side quarter panel four years ago and dented it on the very bottom. I installed the SPG package on the car to cove r this low shallow dent, and to enhance the cars appearance. If you look closely you can see a slight wave in the side above the pan el. Picture attached The car will cruise all day at 75 mph. and is very dependable I know of nothing that is wrong with the car othe r that the cruises control not working. Headgasket in 98 with 66K, Radiator in 03 (116K), 2 new tires at 120K and the other 2 at 125K, Front brakes at 120K, Clutch at 127K. All service records since I've owned it. On the down side, it needs a new top, both front seats need to be repaired (only one side reclines..), and only the 2 passenger speakers work. I had the CD/Equalizer replaced by SAAB Radio last year, so this is probably the radio now.

The transmission was rebuilt about 20K ago from Erikkson transmissions on the east coast. It runs Redline synthetic in the trans and Castrol semi-syn in the engine. 6 extra Mann oil filters are included. An upgraded aluminum oil cooler was fitted. Body was never in accident and has all original dark red paint. The engine has new rod bearings and a rebuilt head, and the water/oil-cooled turbo has good boost. Top is in good condition with no fading, rips or tears. Kenwood CD AM/FM, new windshield, axles, upper/lower control arm balljoints and the car has a custom Yakima bike rack that quickly slips into a concealed vertical hitch receiver behind the bumper. Full set of nice directionals - very minor curb rash. Bought through Swedish Motor Cars on Consignement from original owner 2003, at 57K. Garage kept since 2004, weekend driving only last 3 months - non-"abrasive" commute before (Vienna to Dulles), or highway trips. Replaced front shocks/coolant flush in April, "Shift Block" in September 06, regular oil changes, and consistently cleaned. Turbo still pulls nicely. CD/Radio original and working fine. Due to transatlantic move have to sell meticulously maintained 1997 Saab 900 SE Convertible. I have all records showing 5000 mile (or less) interval oil changes, etc. This car runs great and has very cold AC. Recent head bolt retorque and headbolt cover gasket replacement showed no sludge. Top motor had the bracket reinforcement before gear slippage so no damage to motor gear. Other recent work includes front and rear brakes, PCV nipple and associated items replaced. All the usual SE options (heated memory seats, 6 disc changer, fog lights, light wipers). Only known problems are wear and some cracking on driver~Rs seat and intermittent turbo gauge due to a bad pothole (see boards for many instances of this). This garage kept car has perfect paint, no one believes it~Rs 10 years old.

I bought this Saab in May of 2002 with 81,000 miles in Fort Collins, CO. I had been searching for a clean and well maintained Commemorative Edition Convertible for a while. I have a stack of service records for this car. Always had the fluids changed and everything else was done by the book. Brakes were replaced just a few thousand miles ago. New tires in May. I've replaced the head gasket, the fuel pump, radiator, and had my mechanic take care of any leaks and anything else that needed to be done. Previous owner replaced the clutch, car shifts fine. NO OIL is burned between oil changes. This car DOES NOT RUN HOT -- temp gauge is always smack in the middle. The cruise control and seater heater do not work but the A/C works great. The top was replaced in 2003 and the rear glass was replaced in 2006. The car has the super rare ski rack on the back and a tow hitch for bikes. Has super sweet 16 inch aero wheels with kumho ecsta tires along with the original Asymetrical commemorative edition wheels (refinished due to clearcoating issues) with snow tires on them. I also have a nice OEM Saab car cover, tan boot cover, and a brand new set of black rubber front mats and an ipod cassette adapter. Selling because I just started a new job and needed something with 4 doors (bought a Viggen) Two cars in Boston is downright impractical. One of these, equipped and maintained like this, will not come around again soon.

The PO was very meticulous and replaced Many, many parts on the vehicle and what he missed, I've probably replaced myself. As a former Saab Master Tech, I've had easier access to oem parts than most. All of the front suspension components have been replaced, engine mounts, 91 SPG transmission (Saab/CRX rebuilt), clutch w/all hydraulics, timing chain and guides, all coolant and A/C hoses, belts, water pump, EBC brakes and drilled rotors,etc, etc. Comes with both original SPG wheels w/new Potenzas as well as the 16" Aero rims w/Dunlop Sports.
