simon, I am sure that you are responding to someone elses question, but the strange thing is that I believe that I am having the same problem that you may have given some solutions for. I am having a problem with my temperature rising 2/3 the way up the temp gauge before the fan kicks on when the a/c is off. Of course when it is on both fans come on whenever the compressor cycles and keeps the car cool in any weather, but when the a/c is off I think it gets too hot. sometimes water will boil out of the resivoir. I have changed the thermostat and the fan temp switches. Those were my first thoughts since that fixed the problem before, but this time it is different. It seems to almost be a tempermental thing. Sometimes it will kick the fan on at mid temp range and then cool down to the lower third of the gauge, but other times it get's way hotter than that. it almost seems like it could be hesitating or just not reacting quick enough. oh, another thing. I even measured the temp of the resivoir water with thermometer when it was really hot and steammy, and it only read 190 degrees F. What's up with that, could it be the gauge? why does the water boil out if the temp is normal? I am confused. Help me-------------Marc
