Dash Lights Failing
Posted by Matthew P. Frazer (more from Matthew P. Frazer) on Fri, 6 Aug 1999 18:51:26
The dash lights in my '95 900SET have become intermittent. They will flash off for long periods of time, then come on. Sometimes it's a bump that causes them to come on or off. This affects lighting of all of the gauges and the ACC buttons. It doesn't affect the radio/computer display or the information lamps (upshift, oil, etc) which still light up for a second when the key is first turned on.
When I had it in for the 65K major service, the dealer couldn't duplicate the problem (of course), so they couldn't do anything.
I must have a bad connection somewhere in the main power or ground for the lamps How difficult is it to get at the wiring back there to try to fix it myself? Anyone dealt with similar problems? Any suggestions?
I don't really like driving at night without the benefit of a tach, speedo & fuel gauge!
Thanks. Matt Frazer mfrazerno39sdcx6spamx782medar.com
