Mike is the owner and one of the most honest mechanics I know. He has fixed 

my saab for years. Mostly minor things like a knob on the air controller or 

even replacing my muffler. He saved me a lot of $$. Never go to Reinstein 

in Denville They are VERY VERY expensive. Mike uses recyled parts if he can :)

This shop is run by Mike Grieco and his dad.  Mike was a former Saab

mechanic.  They work only on Saabs, mostly older models.  I have used them

for small maintenance work, such as changing front ball joints, ventilation

fan resistor pack replacement, the usual stuff.  They have all the tools

and parts.  Very good people to deal with, and you can actually see your

car when they work on it.  They are not cheap but less than dealer prices.

John at J.R.'s Imports is the man to see for Saab repairs.  He 

really knows how to diagnose problems on Saabs.  The one thing I like 

about him the most is that you don't have to shop around for parts.  He 

is very honest about prices for parts.  For a fuel pump, he charged me 

just as much as shopping on the internet.  He is also very pleasant to 

work with.

I called to get pricing on a "park assist" diagnostic and the tech. said 

they only do BASIC work on Saabs and that they stopped working on Saabs too 

much because they are not equipped to diagnose electrical issues.

Tibor Ambrus is a gem! He's been a Saab mechanic for 12 years, the last 5

years with his own shop. He just moved his shop to a new location this year

in Bound Brook, just past interstate 287. Tibor is a skilled diagnostician,

and has kept 5 of our Saabs over the years in fine condition. Steve's '87

9000 now has 324,000 miles and shows no signs of retiring! I can't imagine

owning a Saab without Tibor, who's conscientious attention to every detail,

skill and very reasonable prices make maintaining a Saab easy.

Just had a new clutch installed in a day by Tibor Ambrus on my 91 9000s. Was

very impressed with his shop (small but very clean and organized). His price

was over $300 less than the dealer for the same job, and probably done with

more TLC. I recommend his work.

This place is fantastic and Tibor is the MAN. He took great care of my 87

900s. One morning on my way to work the car was beginning to run rough. I

exited off 287 before my normal exit and pulled into his shop. He had me off

an running perfectly within an hour. Tibor is very knowledgeable and

trustworthy, certainly a man of character. I highly recommend his services.

He is now taking care of my 88 9000s with a 192k miles and running very well.

If you live in Central NJ, this is the place to go. Tibor recently replaced 

my two head cylinders and my car actually purrs (a '99 95 Wagon V6 - engine 

blew when timing belt tensioner broke).  Other mechanics, including SAAB dealer, 

recommended putting in used engine, but Tibor right away said that he would 

replace the cylinders, valves, etc., - he didn't think I needed to scrap the 

entire engine!  The cost was a little less than replacing the engine and I wasn't 

buying an engine I knew nothing about.  Tibor did a tremendous job!  I am relying 

on him to keep my SAAB running for at least another 100K.  He says I should expect 

it to go for another 200K!

Jerry Sweet at Sweet Motors is a find. After returning home from college last

Jerry Sweet is hands down, THE best Saab mechanic I have used. He always

fixes it right and at very reasonable rates. And yes, he's honest. Jerry used

to be a service manager at a large Saab dealer, but now runs his personal

Jerry is an excellent mechanic whose rates are much cheaper than the

dealerships. Dependable and reliable, Jerry has kept my SPG in excellent

at JMK some years ago.  The shop used to be Saab only but now has begun

doing some other cars such as BMW, MB.  Excellent price for the work they
