For some reason, my air conditioner switch (the button that turns on the compressor) won't catch. The compressor comes on, and if I keep it pressed in manually, it cools so the actual a/c seems to be working. Is this a simple matter of something snapping off in the button itself (and can I just pull it out and snap a new one back in) or is it something complicated? Will it hurt anything to just jam something in the crack to hold the button down? I hate to take it in because even the simplest thing seems to cost $100 and I just spent $1200 on it. I'm tapped out. Thanks.
