I once took out a SAAB 900, thinking that the handling was going to be good, smooth accerleration, etc. That was a pretty depressing day, the engine was whiney, the cabin was noisy, the ride was not only bumpy, but you could here every bump, there was bad torque steer too. By far the worst car I have ever been in. Mercedes C-Class is much nicer. Also, SAAB reliability is questionable. I have a 1994 MB E420, bought used with 65,000 less than a year ago. It now has 87,000 miles and there has been no body hardware problems. I was in a SAAB 9000CSE Turbo with 10K miles, the switches were coming out of the doors the reading lights had stopped working, etc. Adam bongo <bongonopsamspam.com> wrote in message news:37045526.18707660nopsam.erols.com... >"toasty" <toastynopsamail.com> stands accused of saying: > >>i doubt that'd happen.. they are both relitivly similar in power. >>a Saab 9-3 5 Door HOT has 200hp 5500rmp and 206 ft-lbs torque. > >Maybe you should have a look at the Feb '99 issue of Road and Track. > >The 328i smashes every car in the comparo. > >Though tied for last in horsepower, 328i opened a big can of whipass on the 9-3 >in handling and acceleration and posted the best track times of the bunch. sorry >to break the news to you. > >
