Alan, Yes, it is nice to get a car with all of the service records, but more importantly, have the car pre-buy inspected by a good saab tech. I had that done with my 87 9000S at the end of 97, when I bought the car. The previous owner fixed the things that I required, but I still spent $1500 on the car the first year I owned it. At 145,890 miles there are certain things you can expect to start replacing. Get a Haynes Manual and do the work yourself.
