Hi,
You've probably heard that AI robots (bots) are scraping web sites trying to collect the data to train their AI software. That is also happening here on Saabnet.com. It has been over a year since I noticed the spike in bots hitting the site sometimes so many pages are accessed every one second that it can bring the entire server down. The usual load on the server in Linux/Unix terms is around 1 (at this very moment it is 1.21). When AI bots pound the site, I've seen it higher than 150. I use publicly available services and software to help combat this but I have also spent time writing custom code for the Saabnet server so that I catch even more. To date, about 200,000 AI bots have been banned from the site.
Sometimes the software will generate a false positive and a real Saabnet user will get banned. If you see get this error message, simply follow the instructions to regain access by emailing the address specified in the error message. I will reply fairly promptly by email with a link for you to try to open. IT WILL FAIL AGAIN. I need to see where you are TRYING TO GET ACCESS so I can make the proper change in the settings so that you are no longer denied permission to access the server. I will then email you back to let you know that it is fixed.
Thanks for your patience with this issue. It is now estimated in 2025 that AI bot traffic on the web has surpassed human traffic 51% to 49%.
