the lovely PA road system did a number on a set of our alloys. we had the problem repaired and it seems that things are ok. the problem occured in february (put the full size spare on) and had it fixed about a month ago if that helps any. around here, assuming it is a monster pothole that did the damage to the wheel, we can contact the dept. of transportation, tell them where the pothole is, and they will sometimes reimburse you for the cost of the repair/replacement or some degree of it. in order to avoid this problem, perhaps you should pick up a set of steel rims for the winter months. we did this with one of our saabs (the other is the one that got "hurt") and even though the suggested size was 16" we used 15" without any problems to the abs ('91 9000). the only difference, although slight, has to do with speed as an issue. with the smaller size, you go a tad slower than the speedometer reading...
