Subject: Re: 1994 900 v6 ???

I've got a 94 900S, and it suffered two problems that were not too uncommon for Saabs of that year. The first one was that the early 94s had a front-end suspension problem that resulted in shaking at freeway speeds. The Saab dealers were fixing that one for free for a couple of years after the cars were made. The other problem was that on some cars the incorrect pressure plate was used on the manual trans models. But by now any car of that age should have had those things fixed. Like I said, my car had both of these problems but they're fixed now and the car is fine. The only thing I don't like about that model year (and the next few, I believe...) is that they use a clutch cable rather than a hydrolic clutch. The cable is a bad design and needs replacing every 60k or so and gives a mushy feel. It's about $225 US to get a new one. But on the bright side, you get good gas milage while driving in safety and you can carry lots of things with you. And other than what I've mentioned, my car has been fairly hassle-free.
