Subject: Re: 9-5 versus BMW versus Mercedes 320

The best advice is make sure you drive each car and make up your own mind. I now have a 9-5 2.0 SE with the Saab performance chip. I traded in my '94 Saab 9000 CSE for it after someone drove into the side of the 9000. I loved that car, even after 125,000 miles. The 9-5 is a more refined car, and a better thought out dash and controls. I drove the BMW 530d SE, 325 SE, Volvo (can't remember the model of barge) and Merc E and C class. I chose the Saab. Other people will choose differently, I don't doubt, but the other two Saabs I've had have served me well and are enjoyable to own and drive. According to NCAP, they are also one of the safest cars you can drive. Pete.
