Subject: premium fuel only for Aero?



I just bought a 97 9000 Aero Turbo with the 5 speed transmission. Reading
the manual, I see that all Saabs with the exception of the Aero with 5 speed
can burn regular grade gas, but my car is supposed to be fed the premium
(90.5 octane is what the manual says). Is this the experience of other Aero
owners? Prior to buying the 9000, I'd spoken to the local Saab dealer and
was told that only the newer 6 cylinder engine required premium fuel.
