If some of the other lights in the same area of the dash >come on, I usually will see them. Why are there so many complaints about >the shift-up light? > Sometimes, I might drop the engine into a lower gear, in anticpation of an upcoming traffic manuver. i.e., I'm going to blow the doors off from someone [esp. w/ the 88 900]. While the engine isn't under a significant load, the shift up light comes on. Nothing major, but annoying nevertheless. Also, I find it rather amusing that the shift up light illuminates on my 88 900 when I'm moving in reverse and the engine is over 2000 rpm. Anyhow, a nice part about these "old-school" is the relative ease in which this annoyance is taken care of. Pull out the fuse, cured. It sucks that one has to take the newer models into the dealer to get rid of it. John Rausch johnranopsampot.phys.uwosh.edu 86 900S 87 900S 88 900 SPG 92 900 TC
