I figured he had the "rod" part right, but not necessarily the function. We could guess some more, or we could wait for clarification. ;) Personally, I think he's broken his radiator-shade cord; probably where it goes through the grommet in the firewall, right up from the brake master cylinder. (Show of hands: who has the first clue what the hell I'm rambling on about this time?) Dave
