Any good motor factor should be able to get you a Saab spec thermostat. If you intend to do work on you car, and you haven't done this kind of thing before, I strongly recommend a Haynes manual - it's well worth £15. The thermostat is towards the top of the engine, at the end of the top radiator hose. Follow the big hose from the top of the radiator to the engine. At the end is the thermostat housing. > By the way, I keep an eye on the temperature guage, and I'll take out > my piece of alumninum foil when the weather starts to get warmer. I wasn't calling you a one-armed brain-dead gorilla, just jokingly pointing out that changing the thermostat is pretty easy. I don't know you well enough to be exchanging insults! BTW, my concern about the foil still stands - if you get stuck in traffic, it's easy to overheat - it's very difficult to keep your eye on the gauge all the time. If you overheat, it could easily mean a new headgasket (a hell of a lot more difficult than a thermostat), or even a new head (ouch). Is it worth the risk? -- Grunff
