I picked up a > Haynes manual but it's not too helpful regarding this procedure. The Haynes write-up is really all you need - It's all I had when I changed my first rack, and that went fine. I would urge you against using one from a scrapper. Rebuilt racks aren't expensive, and it's a job you don't want to be repeating in a year's time. The rack is held on by two big bolts. So all you do is disconnect the hydraulics (this is the most difficult bit, you will most likely have to cut down a spanner), undo the track rod ends, undo the two big bolts, and remove the rack.
