Dave,

not sure if I was specific enough so here's another try:
There are 2 'gaskets' in the pump, one plain thin 'paper' one and one thick
rubber ring, with a square cross-section.
(not sure how you would call that).

I dont know Permatex, is that some sort of 'sealant'?
