We have to recognize that there are no new Saabs being manufactured and at some point, people are going to have their last Saab and then need to move on. My sister-in-law, a long-time Saab owner who just lost her 2011 NG9-5 to a collision that was not her fault (along with my wife, her only sister, who has only driven Saabs since she started driving at 16, along with my father and mother-in who have driven Saabs for many decades and have a 9-3 SportCombi currently) and she could not buy a 2017-18 Saab so after many Saabs, she has moved on to a very nice Mercedes. My brother-in-law also owned a 9-5 wagon and was hit by a driver and the Saab kept him safe and un-injured, but he wanted an SUV and moved on to a Lexus. My wife and moved on to similar models with lower mileage so we could stay in Saabs for as long as possible. After a guy ran a stop sign and totalled my 2005 9-2X Aero Midnight Blue Saabaru (my daughter and I walked away without a scratch), I found another 2005 9-2X Aero in Colorado and upgraded to leather seats although I lost the 17 inch sport rims and sunroof and it's Arctic Silver instead but it had half the mileage at 53K so I'll be able to be in that car Saab for very long time. I love this little rally car. My wife sold her 2007 9-3 SportCombi with 173K miles to get into as new a Saab as possible and found a beautiful 2010 9-3X Wagon with 50K miles, so she'll be driving a Saab for as long as possible... a long time from now, I'm guessing my wife will move on to another brand, but I'll look long and hard before I move on... plus, I'll always have my 1973 Saab Sonett III.
This part you will not believe, but my wife just the other day, gave me permission to go ahead and look for a 9-2X Aero now instead of waiting... I married a Saab girl! She was the one who made me look at a used Saab in 1988 instead of looking for a VW Scirocco to replace my Rabbit GTI and thus The Saab Network was born when I turned to the Internet (Usenet newsgroups) for help with a leaking water pump and there were no Saab resources available!
