- 1988 Saab 900 Turbo Convertible (Posted 3/17/2023)
SOLD
Color: Red Trans: Manual Mileage: 169,XXX Price: $6500
Up for sale is my 1988 Saab 900 convertible with 169,XXX miles and slowly climbing. This car has been in my family for the past 20+ years. My uncle is Jim Moncrief who ran Sobstory in Flemington, NJ and this was his personal car. The car was modified under his ownership for track day events over the years. I bought it from him with no motor or transmission over 10 years ago. Over the past few years I have slowly been putting it back together with tasteful modifications to make it a nice driving 900. The car has a fresh 2.0 bottom end with a fresh 2.1 head, rebuilt stock turbo by Erickson, and a factory red box. The car is fitted with a eEuro/MCS flywheel and 9000 injectors, so some of the heavy lifting is complete for a Trionic conversion if the future owner is inclined to go in that direction. The transmission was also rebuilt, with Nat at Erickson's setting up the pinion bearing, and John Groo completing the set up and installation using the factory set up tools. The car has Jack Lawrence's MSS classic 900 suspension set up with lowering performance springs(Have the front and rear lbs written down somewhere) and adjustable Koni's on all 4 corners. The car also now has a NOS MSS exhaust system with a few hours of time on it. These two sets of components are very much unobtanium in the saab 900 world and a very nice piece of 900 history and addition to the driving experience of these cars. Some other modifications are the addition of a period Scheel-Mann driving seat and a 900 convertible specific bolt in roll bar with harness mounts. These are very much easily removable, and I have the stock drivers seat to go with the sale. Additional new parts that have gone into this car over the past year with only ~1500 miles of use : 1) New Clutch and pressure plate 2) New main seal 3) Clutch Slave and master rebuild 4) New radiator and thermostat 5) Front ball joints 6) Calipers/rotors/pads Its not a show car by any means, but it is a great driver and perfect foundation for an enthusiast who would like to keep it a driver and put the top down in a few weeks and fiddle with all the little things, or drive and restore on your own timeline. If I were to keep this car the things I would address are: 1) AC system to be refitted (I have the compressor and additional fan ready to go back on was working prior to new engine being fitted) 2) Interior freshening (the door card fabric is tired) 3) You can replace or have the dash redone. 4) There is the option to put the stock seat back in and pull out the roll bar and driver's seat) 5) Newer tires depending on future use (current track day tires are on the older side, but are still good) 6) AIC valve (I have one to replace and I have not gotten to it yet) 7) Radio stopped working and I have not taken the time to research why 8) Windshield washer nozzles were removed and need to be sourced and replaced Please keep in mind this is a 35 year old car and it is not perfect, but it is a clean opportunity to get into a 900 turbo convertible with all of the period modifications that enhanced these cars. Car will be sold with a CT title in my name, CT registration in my name, and a CT bill of sale.

This has been a fun and beautiful project, but unfortunately, I need to let someone who can devote the time and money that I cannot do right now. Since purchasing almost a year ago, she's been garaged and cared for as any Saab should be. I-New rooftop when I purchased it; the top operates with no issues. -No cracks on the dashboard -All speakers have been upgraded; I replaced the stereo with an aftermarket but have the original radio and amp (but they don't work) -Small tear on the driver's seat and loose stitching -AC blows cold, heater blows hot, driver's side seat warmer works -Side mirror switches need replacing -New headlights with LED bulbs installed -New tires (6 months ago) -New cat converter -Has been serviced by Saab and Raffi shop in Hollywood -Passenger rear panel damage (when bought - see photo) Overall it's in great condition, fun to drive, and has been a pleasure to put my blood, sweat, and tears into, and I hope someone can continue bringing her to full glory that she deserves. She turns heads when driving around town :)

Color: White Trans: Automatic Mileage: 140,000 Price: $5000
Car was sold in Georgia then was in New Mexico for years. I have receipts of repairs completed from those locations and original sales document. There is almost zero rust. Under the battery tray there are some small surface rust spots. And on side of hood there is a spot from a paint chip. Since car was in a very dry sunny climate, the clear coat is faded in some spots. A new top was put on the car prior to 2019, when I bought it. It is NYS state inspected. Drives well. Always been garaged and never driven in winter. The plan was to convert to a manual. I have an extra motor and manual transmission, plus pedals and all etc to make the change. But life changed and the Saab is up for sale. It is a good time capsule.

- 1990 Saab 900 Turbo Convertible (Posted 2/26/2023)
SOLD
Color: Red (cherry) Trans: Manual Mileage: 69,000 Price: $11,500
My name is Jeff. I live in Richmond, VA, and I am selling my beautiful 1990 Saab 900 Turbo Convertible. This is the third 900 convertible I have owned, and certainly my favorite. My family and I have absolutely loved this car the past three years. It's been our sunny weekend driver – mostly short jaunts around town, and Cars and Coffee events. This 900 is very clean, very original (original radio and equalizer still work!), and has been super reliable for me. Cherry red, 5-speed, low miles, nice top. I'm also including a number of extras (car cover, service manuals, battery maintainer, etc). I've done my best to keep it in great condition, and would love to find someone who really appreciates these cars. Why am I selling this amazing 900? I am starting a family business, which has been a dream of mine. The funds from this sale will go a long way toward getting me started. Ask me any questions you may have. Or stop by to check it out if you are nearby. For extensive details about the car and another photo gallery: Click Here.

- 1992 Saab 900 Turbo Convertible (Posted 2/25/2023)
SOLD
Color: Le Mans Blue Trans: Manual Mileage: 56,965 Price: $9,900
Just in time for Spring, I am listing my 1992 Saab 900 turbo convertible for
sale. This beautiful Saab has just under 57k miles but may be exercised
occasionally until sold. The car spent most of its life in Arizona, there is not
a spot of rust that I can locate on the vehicle. Car made its way to Colorado,
where I purchased it in 2017 with just over 54k miles. Since ownership I have
had a new top professionally installed, steering column rebuilt, new seal
installed for the oil pump, new shifter linkage, and CV boots. Recently I had
the cooling fan switch replaced. The AC system had a leak, which my mechanic
identified and fixed. With a fresh charge the AC appears to be working as
intended. I can honestly say the car is in much better condition than when I
purchased it. The vehicle is not without faults though, the stereo (cool 90's
era Alpine head unit) only has the front speakers working. It does have an
amplifier and CD changer in the trunk. I am not certain if they are functional,
but the CD changer has its cassette, and it can be inserted and removed without
issue. The dash has a lot of cracking, assumed to be caused by the intense sun
in AZ. The ashtray in the back is broken, glove box door is warped, driver seat
has a small separation from the foam but is has not increased since I have owned
it, some of the dash and interior lights are out and the passenger seatbelt
latch (which previous owner replaced) is not the correct part number (I think it
is for a 4dr) but functions properly. The paint is original, has some spots that
need attention, scratches here and there, sun fading, etc. The headlight wipers
are not functioning anymore. This Saab comes with the parade boot in grey, has
the Carlsson body package less the wheel arches, replica arches included. Heated
seat works well. I have some documentation from the original dealer. I
exclus!ively drive this vehicle in the Spring and Fall, covered all Winter long
and not driven. Driven infrequently in the Summer months as well. Most of the
miles I have put on the vehicle are from running it up and down Big and Little
Cottonwood Canyons here in UT, the car excels in those conditions, so much fun
to drive. The Saab is running and driving so well right now, it really hurts to
list it for sale. Asking $9,900, willing to listen to reasonable offers from the
right buyer. I am not an overly motivated seller and would like to see the Saab
go to a good home. Photos are from last Summer; the headlight bulbs have been
replaced with LED's. Happy to answer questions and provide more photographs,
feel free to ask. I get many positive comments about the car when it is out and
about. It's a Saab c900, people love them! Daisy is not included in the sale.

Color: Black Code 170 Trans: Automatic Mileage: 98,200 Price: $13,995
This car looks like it came out of a time warp! Exterior all original except for bumper covers and extensions that were refinished by us and new chrome added. Top is original and works flawlessly. Interior seats are in wonderful soft pliable and not worn, dash has no cracks on top and no delamination on the face. Tires no dry rot almost new tread brakes smooth ebrake perfect. A/c works and converted to 134A, factory stereo in car and CD and equalizer work. Seat folding and adjustments all work, seat heater works on driver seat. If this was a manual what a find it would have been! But this auto trans shifts perfectly and turbo has full boost. I am willing to take pics of any thing asked just may have a one day delay in taking under body pics. I would also split the cost of a new canvas top with buyer that would make the car perfect. Note: The hood was repainted due to road rash.

Color: Red Trans: Manual Mileage: 116,800 Price: $12,500
I would like to sell my 1987 900 turbo. Owned it for a couple of years and have barely put any miles on it. Just pulled it out and had it detailed. Paint is excellent, interior is not as great but does not need anything. I have new tires on it with less than 500 miles and a new battery. I have records all the way back to new. Car cover. All original except for a center armrest added by previous owner. The good: manual transmission and paint are excellent, body has very few imperfections, runs strong and shifts perfectly - it is a pleasure to drive, new tires and battery, original stereo and eq are working. I am third owner since new. some 80's cassettes are in the glove box. Full service history/paperwork. The bad: interior shows more wear, but not torn or stained. A/C is inoperable - has been for my ownership and I never tried to fix it. Rear driver's side window inoperable (this is recent) and I have not tried to fix it. Other windows are slow to go up and down but do work. More photos available in classified gallery: Click Here.

Color: Blue (code 234) Trans: Automatic Mileage: 175,500 Price: $3100
The Good: Starts immediately, smooth idle, runs great, drives straight, accelerates fine, turbo boost is good, no fluid leaks. Brakes are good. Decent original interior. Aftermarket stereo with speakers (I don't have the Clarion). Top is newer and works perfectly, doesn't leak, headliner good. All windows work, weather seals are intact. Blower works. All glass intact, no cracks. Body is straight, no accidents. Exterior lights in good condition. Trunk is clean. Engine compartment isn't awful. Catalytic converter intact. No warning lights on. The OEM wheels have new Falken tires mounted and balanced (10 miles on them). Bilstein shocks. Front wheel arches are not rusted (see photos). Extra keys. The Bad: Rust spot below left tail light & some here and there on undercarriage. A metal patch repair was made by a PO to small area under the driver's seat. The SAAB wheels are not beautiful. The automatic shifter cable needs slight adjustment. The speedometer doesn't work. AC is weak. Dash has cracks. Small exhaust leak (puffing) at manifold (new gasket included). Needs good buffing-out (color code 234). Shipping arranged (if needed) from the I-4/I-95 Florida interchange. Clear Florida title. See my Saabnet.com Member gallery for more photos: Click Here.
