TERRELL BANKS) on Fri, 12 May 1989 13:29:20 On the '79 900 GLi I just bought, the clock is rather weird. Runs only when the ignition is on. I figure that some bozo simply wired it to the wrong power wire in the dash. When it runs, however, it runs at about 50% of real time; as in 10 minutes real time gets 5 minutes passing on the clock. Is there some lubrication or adjustment that can cure this? I'm going to have to get behind the instrument cluster to change a light bulb or two in any event so what can I look for to fix the clock? The speedometer reads faster than actual speed. I haven't done an in depth accuracy check, but I would guess it's about 15% high. What, if any- thing can I do about this? (This may turn out to be a feature rather than a bug because it slows my wife down a little bit - something that I've never been able to do!) The radio - she no works anymore. How does it come out? Is there an inline fuse behind it like I've seen in some other cars. It is not an after- market radio but rather the original factory (or maybe dealer) equipment installation. No owners manual came with the car. How/where can I get one? Which shop manual of reasonable price should I be looking to get? Thanks, Terry T.
