NORCROSS, Ga.Ñ For 2000, Saab continues to advance its model line with new
performance variants like the 9-5 Aero and 9-3 Viggen 5-door and Convertible
models, and adds a number of performance-related enhancements to the entire
iine.

Saab 9-5 Aero

On the heels of introducing the potent Saab 9-3 Viggen, Saab brings another
high-performance variant to marketÑthe 9-5 Aero. This sporty sedan features
a high output turbocharged, 230 horsepower 2.3L 4-cylinder engine that is
available with either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission.
When mated to the 5-speed manual transmission, the 9-5 Aero engine develops
an impressive 258 Ib.-ft. of torque from 1,900 to 3,800 rpm. With an
automatic transmission, the engine develops 243 Ib.-ft. of torque from 1,900
all the way up to 4,600 rpm.

The 9-5 Aero builds on the performance heritage of its predecessor, the 9000
Aero, while adding all of the innovative technologies and luxury amenities
of the current 9-5 model line. Its performance character is complemented by
sporty exterior and interior styling changes, including flared rocker
panels, a front chin spoiler, a rear valance and a sport steering wheel.

Saab engineers have also integrated a sport chassis with
performance-optimized suspension, upgraded brakes and 1 7-inch alloy wheels
with low profile tires.

Standard Traction Control Svstem (TCS) and Sunroof

For enhanced driving control in inclement weather conditions, the Saab
Traction Control System (TCS) is now standard equipment on all 9-5 models
(previously only available, standard, on V-6 models). Saab's TCS is an
'all-speed' system that modulates ABS braking and electronic throttle, when
necessary, to optimize the traction of the front drive wheels.

Saab also adds a sunroof as standard equipment on all 9-5 models (previously
standard on SE Sedans and all Wagons).

SE Models Feature V-6 Enaine

For 2000, all 9-5 SE Sedans and Wagons are available only with the 3.0L V-6
light pressure turbocharged engine which generates 200 horsepower at 5,000
rpm and 229 Ib.-ft. of torque from 2,500 to 4,000 rpm. All SE models also
receive a standard automatic dimming rearview mirror that improves
night-driving visibility.

Entry level Saab 9-5 Sedans and Wagons will continue to offer the 170
horsepower 2.3L 4-cylinder light-pressure turbocharged engine. These models
can be upgraded with a new Premium Package, which includes leather interior,
a Harman/Kardon audio system, and memory function for the driver's side
8-way power seat.

New 16' Alloy Wheels on Entry Level 9-5's

All entry level 9-5 Sedans and Wagons will come standard with newly designed
16-inch ten-spoke light alloy wheels, while 9-5 SE Sedans and Wagons
continue to feature the existing 16-inch five-spoke light alloy wheels.

9-3 Viqaen 5-door and Convertible

Model year 2000 marks the debut of the high performance Saab 9-3 Viggen
5-door and Convertible variants, as well as an extra boost of horsepower and
torque across the entire Viggen line. Saab's top performer now delivers 230
horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 258 ft.-lbs. of torque from a low 2,500 rpm all
the way up to 4.500 rpm. All three Viggens (Coupe, Convertible and 5-Door)
are now available in two new colors, Black and Silver, in addition to the
previous Viggen exclusive

Lightning Blue. Fewer than 3,000 Viggens will be produced for the world in model year 2000, with
1,000 of them coming to the U.S. market.

Increased HorsePower for SE Models

For all 5-Door and Convertible 9-3 SE models, Saab engineers have boosted
the engine performance level to 205 horsepower, courtesy of Saab's high
output turbocharged 2.0L, 4-cylinder powerplant. Manual transmission
equipped versions of this engine continue to provide impressive low-end
maximum torque of 209 Ib.-ft. from 2,200 rpm all the way up to 4,800 rpm.
Automatic transmission equipped variants develop maximum torque of 184
Ib.-ft. from 1,900 rpm to 5,700 rpm.

All Saab engines for 2000 utilize Saab's Trionic 7 (T7) engine management
system. T7 monitors and controls the direct ignition, fuel injection, turbo
boost pressure and throttle setting to enhance performance and virtually
eliminate turbo lag.

Sport Enhancements for SE Models

The Saab design team complements the 9-3 SE's greater performance abilities
with a front chin spoiler, flared rocker panels, a new rear valance, body
colored mirrors, polished chrome sport exhaust tip and a sports steering
wheel. In addition, the 9-3 SE Convertible integrates a rear bridge spoiler.
The SE 5-Door also incorporates a specially tuned sport suspension for more
responsive handling.

New Wheels on Entrv Level Models

Saab's entry level 9-3 models receive newly designed 15-inch light alloy
wheelsÑa five-spoke design is standard on all Coupes, while ten-spoke
wheels are featured on all 5-Door and Convertible models.

Optional OnStar Telematics System

For 2000, Saab takes its first step in an aggressive strategy to introduce
telematics services into Saab vehicles by offering OnStar as an option on
all Saab models. Telematics is the gateway for a virtually unlimited array
of wireless infotainment services in the vehicle and OnStar is Saab's first
step in taking a leadership role in advancing this technology.

Additionally, OnStar supports Saab's 'real-life safety' philosophy by
providing extensive security and emergency features through the use of
Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and cellular technology. OnStar provides
instant accident, theft and navigation assistanceÑas well as a host of
concierge services.

Saab is the first European brand to offer this type of system across its
entire model line. OnStar's MSRP in Saab vehicles is $895, which includes
three months of the Premium Service Plan.

LEV CompIiant Engines

All Saab engines are compliant with Low Emission Vehicle (LEV) standards.

4-year/50,000- mile bumper-to-bumper coverage with 24-hour roadside
