APEAL STUDY

9-5 receives high marks with customers in its flrst year in study

NORCROSS, Ga.- In the 1999 J.D. Power and Associates Automotive
Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study, the Saab 9-5 finished
among the top three in the Entry Luxury segmentÑan impressive showing for
the Saab 9-5 in its first year in the study.

The J.D. Power and Associates' APEAL Study has become a benchmark for
measuring the appeal of new vehicles and the features that excite owners.
It measures how satisfied customers are with over one hundred attributes of
their vehicle including powertrain, exterior and interior design and more.

The Saab 9-5, offered in both Sedan and Wagon body styles, offers a number
of features that owners appreciate, like turbocharged engines that combine
thrilling driving performance with excellent fuel efficiency, and useful

Subject: Saab Announces 2000 Pricing
==================
Saab enhances 2000 models by adding even more standard features -
with minimal price increases

NORCROSS, Ga. - Saab Cars USA, Inc. has announced an aggressive pricing
structure for the company's 2000 models. With sales up 44 percent for
calendar year 1999, Saab plans to continue its momentum by adding new
models to its line-up and providing even more standard equipment on its
cars while minimizing price increases.

'Saabs have long been known for their high level of standard equipment,'
says Sean McNamara, director of product planning. 'With many of our
competitors, you have to add a number of options to their cars to get a
vehicle comparably equipped. Our 2000 line will continue that trend.'

As an example, the 2000 Saab 9-3 Coupe model adds new 5-spoke alloy wheels,
a choice of either standard CD or cassette player, child seat top tether
anchors in the rear seat and an additional interior storage pocket for the
same Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) as 1999Ñ$25,900. This
price includes such standard equipment as a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine,
enhanced for 2000 with Saab's Trionic 7 engine management system which
provides electronic throttle activation to eliminate turbo lag, front- and
side-impact airbags for front seat passengers, the Saab Active Head
Restraint (SAHR) System and ABS brakes.

The 9-3 SE 5-door and Convertible models also are enhanced for 2000 and
will include Saab's 209 Ib.-ft. of torque (205-horsepower) high-output
turbocharged 2.0-liter engine standard. Also included is a new exterior
sport body kit, a sport steering wheel, a choice of either standard CD or
cassette player and a rear spoiler (new for convertible models). The 9-3 SE
5-Door will provide all of these upgrades with a price increase of only
$195 to $31,895 (MSRP). The convertible model's price remains unchanged at
$42,995.

The new 9-3 Viggen models, which provide a 258 Ib.-ft. of torque
(230-horsepower) high-output turbocharged 2.3-liter engine, sport-enhanced
chassis, 17-inch wheels, front sport seats and more, is offered at an MSRP
of $37,750 for the coupe and the, new-for-2000, 5-door model. This price is
unchanged from the 1999 9-3 Viggen Coupe. The new 9-3 Viggen Convertible
will be offered at an MSRP of $44,995.

With nearly all amenities standard, the only options available on Saab 9-3
models are: an automatic transmission, a sunroof, heated seats, leather
upholstery, metallic paint and the OnStar telematics system (SE and Viggen
models provide leather upholstery and sunroof standard).

Saab also increased the value of its 9-5 model line by making a sunroof and
the Saab Traction Control System (TCS) standard on all entry-level 9-5
models for an MSRP of $32,575. This vehicle features a 207 Ib.-ft. of
torque (170-horsepower) 2.3-liter light-pressure turbocharged engine,
front- and side-impact air bags for front seat passengers, SAHR, 16-inch
light alloy wheels and a CD and cassette player as standard equipment.

All 2000 9-5 SE models now provide Saab's 3.0-liter V6 229 Ib.-ft. of
torque (200-horsepower) light- pressure turbocharged engine and an
automatic dimming mirror as standard equipment at an MSRP of $37,750Ñan
increase of only $300 on the 9-5 Sedan and $850 on the 9-5 Wagon. These
models also feature a standard 4-speed automatic transmission, leather
upholstery, a 3-position memory driver's seat and a Harman/Kardon 240-watt
premium audio system.

The all-new Saab 9-5 Aero features a 258 Ib.-ft. of torque (230-horsepower)
high-output turbocharged engine, sport-tuned suspension, 17-inch light
alloy wheels, an Aero-specific styling package and more. This
high-performance, sports luxury sedan is offered at an MSRP of $39,775.

For 2000, Saab takes its first step in an aggressive strategy to introduce
telematics services into Saab vehicles by offering OnStar as an option on
all Saab models. Telematics is the gateway for a virtually unlimited array
of wireless infotainment services in the vehicle and OnStar is Saab's first
step in taking a leadership role in advancing this technology.
Additionally, OnStar supports Saab's 'real-life' safety philosophy by
providing extensive security and emergency features. Saab is the first
European brand to offer this type of system across its entire model line.
OnStar's MSRP in Saab vehicles is $895, which includes three months of the
Premium Service Plan.

For all 2000 models, Saab offers excellent warranty protection that
includes 4-year/50,000-mile bumper-to-bumper coverage with 24-hour roadside
assistance. Perforation coverage extends for six years with no mileage
limit. Saab will continue to perform the first maintenance service free of
charge.

All 2000 Saab models will begin arriving at dealerships in early October,
1999.

Subject: September 1999 Sales up 74% - Best September Ever
==================
Saab's third best month ever and third consecutive month over 4,000 units

NORCROSS, Ga. - Saab Cars USA, Inc., the U.S. importer and distributor of
Saab 9-3 and 9-5 automobiles, announced sales of 4,679 units during
September, 1999, a 74% percent leap over September, 1998 sales (2,696
units). This represents the best overall sales month Saab has posted since
July 1986, the best September ever and Saab's third strongest sales month
since entering the U.S. market in 1956. Year-to-date, Saab is also enjoying
continued strong sales momentum. With September 1999 year-to-date sales of
31,494 already surpassing 1998 full calendar year sales (30,757), Saab
sales are up 43.7% percent over the same period in 1998 (31,494 vs.
21,920).

'We are very encouraged to see our third consecutive month of 4,000+ unit
sales,' said Dan Chasins, Saab Cars USA, Inc. president and COO.
'Considering we are carrying this continued high level of sales momentum
already, while launching the new Saab 9-5 Aero, Saab 9-3 Viggen Convertible
and 5-door and the performance enhanced 9-3 SE models this month, we are
very excited about our prospects moving forward into 2000.'

Saab sold 3,409 9-3 models in September, including 630 9-3 Convertibles and
2,268 entry level 9-3 coupes and 5-doors. This great sales success is
indicative of the tremendous value to be found in the Saab 9-3 with
standard equipment including: a 185 horsepower 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged
engine, driver and passenger front and side-impact airbags, Saab's
industry-first whiplash risk-reducing active head restraint system (SAHR),
4-wheel disc brakes with ABS, 1 5-inch light alloy wheels and much more.

Sales of the Saab 9-5 Sedan and Wagon models also remained very strong with
a total of 1,252 units retailed during September. Saab 9-5 sales continue
to far exceed sales of its predecessor - the Saab 9000.

Saab Cars USA, Inc. is headquartered in Norcross, GA, near Atlanta.

Subject: 9-5 Wagon wins Design Award
==================
NORCROSS, Ga.- The Saab 9-5 Wagon has garnered another award-
this year's Excellent Swedish Design Prize. The award is given by the
Swedish Society of Crafts and Design, which promotes Swedish styling and
design, both nationally and internationally.

The jury awarded this year's Prize to the Saab 9-5 Wagon with the following
remarks: 'Saab has succeeded in retaining its sporty and distinctive design
profile in this wagon model. The overall impression is excellent, and the
details are well thought out. The design of the driver's environment is in
the form of a control center, just like in an aircraft cockpit. The
functions and ergonomics have been awarded high marks. The stiff chassis
and suspension enhance the good aerodynamics and keep the car firmly on the
road. This Swedish product is simply the result of exemplary cooperation in
the development team. Saab's brand and design strategies are in good
harmony.'

Previously, the Saab 9-5 Wagon was selected as the 'Top Car' for 1999 in
the $35,000 to $40,000 category by the American Automobile Association
(AAA).

Other Saabs to win the Excellent Swedish Design Prize include the 1986 Saab
9000 and the 1984 Saab 900.
