Linkage? [saabnet.com]
Posted by Kyle - http://saabnet.com/tsn/forms/e.php3?em=293 (more from Kyle - http://saabnet.com/tsn/forms/e.php3?em=293) on Tue, 3 Aug 2004 00:58:29

I moved my friends car the other day. Today she told me, she cant put it in
fifth gear. It happened one other time, because someone moved the car and
didnt pull up on the safety mechanism to put it in reverse. it is a saab
900. I have been told it is probably because the linkage broke. How would i
go about fixing this? How much would the parts be? vs. having a shop fix
this at 90$ an hour?

Is there a linkage diagram, or a picture of the shifter i can look at, to get
a general idea of where to start?

All the other gears work...just fifth that does not.
