Shock replacement suggestion for 93 9000 cs [saabnet.com]
Posted by jh40 - http://saabnet.com/tsn/forms/e.php3?em=203 (more from jh40 - http://saabnet.com/tsn/forms/e.php3?em=203) on Tue, 3 Aug 2004 14:19:50

Hi:
My 9000 CS has 94K miles on it and every bump I hit rattles my teeth. It
feels like the shocks have turned to stone (hydraulic shocks get really mushy
when they fail, do gas shock get really hard?). Anyway, I am currently
deciding if I want to keep the car. If I do, I will need to replace the
shocks(among other things). The OEM shocks (sachs I think) were always very
stiff, too stiff for my liking)...can anybody recommend a little softer shock
but one that will preserve the original handling? I know there is a tradeoff
in ride-handling with shocks, but I would like something a bit softer. I am
looking at replacing all 4.
Thanks for your advice
John
