Transmission & Suspension
Posted by Nathan Janette (more from Nathan Janette) on Mon, 28 Aug 1989 00:01:18
Hello folks,I've just joined this list. I am the proud owner of a 1987900S, which I just bought used a few weeks ago. I have alsoowned a 1971 99, and a 1978 99EMS.And now, a question for those in the know about 900 transmissionand suspension systems. The shifter for my 5-speed seems to beextremely sensitive to road conditions: when the tires pass a pothole the shifter vibrates strongly. Once or twice the shaking hasbeen bad enough to cause me to lose the handle during a shift. The shocks seem fine, however I believe they are stock, with 45Kon them.Any ideas? Is this a known design problem, or what?-- Nathan Janette--
